First things first....

This trip is looking good already! Imagine that....nuggets made out of beaver meat! If they are anything like chicken nuggets, this might be my favorite place.

 

This is NOT what I expected.  I think this is false advertising on that big sign by the highway.





Summer Road Trip 2013

Oh boy, Oh boy...we are getting the car ready to hit the road tomorrow!!!  Where are we going Rick and Kristen?

Change of Plans in the Hill Country....

I don't know who, exactly, was in charge of fuel.  It's not me, 'cause you know - no thumbs or credit card.  But it was a little bit tense I'm telling you when Rick and Kristen cruised into Exxon with 0 range left on the car!  What an exciting detour start to the day!

Then we got to Enchanted Rock only the line to get in doesn't seem so enchanted! 

 

 

Plus the parking lot is looking full...time to figure out a new plan...good thing we have a full tank of gas now.

I love this place! Colorado Bend State Park is great!  There are trails and fish and birds and trails. Did I mention trails?  I really, really love trails.

 

 

Except...once again there is dog discrimination! 

 

I need a drink of that cool spring water, but I will settle for chewing on this stick since I am not allowed. Plus Rick is clearly not letting me.

We can so do this!  3 mile loop, with the last part straight down to the falls.

 

 

I'm not sure about this...

Ummm...I see that there is a handrail, but I don't exactly have hands. But I will be a brave traveling coonhound!

We did it! We did it!

 

Time for a cool drink and a dip in the river.  That was hard work...and it was all downhill.  Uh oh.

Here we go back up...Just don't look down!  We can do it!!!
