Jed and Scout...together again
Ummm...I see that your car is here....ummm....can Jed come out and play?
Are you sure you saw the squirrel up there Scout? I don't see it now...
Maybe I saw it over there Jed...umm...I'm not sure now.
Scout! Stop laying down on the job!!! Squirrel patrol is very important work. Plus!!! There are kitties to be defended against too!
You're right Scout...it does feel good to just relax and hang out together. I'm glad I'm home Scout!!!

Missed because of dog discrimination...
The view deck at Mt. Rushmore....
Although Rick snuck me up the back way!
Picking and eating strawberries with Arya...this is due to the no thumb thing.
The black bear swimming in the Clark Fork River...
Look at that guy scramble up the hill!!
Mammoth Hot Springs....stuck in the car again.
The Spruce Tree house at Mesa Verde...
I had to look from the top! Not the same at all....although the way Rick and Kristen were huffing and puffing after coming up, this may have been a good thing.
But I am home now and looking forward to playing with Scout tonight...need to check with him on how the squirrel patrol has gone the past two weeks.

Roswell, New Mexico
Santa Fe, New Mexico via Roswell to home....our last day on the road.
This is a very strange place...
It is making me very nervous...
That guy in the rocket ship scares me....
Although it might explain those green shakes they have every year...
And enchiladas verdes....
But this place makes me nervous...let's go home now.

Mesa Verde National Park
Mesa Verde National Park -- Colorado
What is down there? Is that where the Ancient Pueblo people lived?
I think we need to go down the cliff...all the interesting stuff is down, down, down....but this place is discriminatory to me and --- grrr ---I have to wait in the car.
Kiva in a dwelling built on the mesa top.
What an amazing place!

I think I could do it if it weren't for the ladders... that would take thumbs I think.
Kristen and Rick will hike without me for this adventure.
Spruce Tree House - third largest cliff dwelling. Constructed between A.D. 1211 and A.D. 1278
Spruce Tree House - blackened walls from winter fires.
Spruce Tree House - Kiva, Hopi word for ceremonial room. They are found in every dwelling.
Square Tower House - multi-level structure
Let's build here!

Wyoming - Colorado
Jackson Hole, Wyoming to Durango, Colorado.
All we did today was drive and drive and drive. It was very boring to me. I did get to get out at this place and walk around.
It is pretty self-explanatory I think.

Yellowstone National Park
Yellowstone National Park
Another water fall...really...yawn. Where are the critters?
Trapped in the car for this one...yawn...where are the critters!?!
Uh huh...another hum drum photo op....still trapped in the car. Where are the critters already????
Now we're talking! Let me out, let me out!
Grrrr...did that thing just grrr? Ummm...I think I will stay in the car.

Yellowstone: Hot Springs and Geysers
I am too smart of a coonhound to walk on unstable ground or boiling water! But this place is still discriminatory to me!
That was a great treat! Oh and guess what?!? We found a place that I could see too! The air smelled funny, but I liked the warm steam and pretty colors.
Then I was so happy!!! Because - oh boy, oh boy - Old Faithful is not discriminatory to dogs at all!!!

Rockslide!
Glacier National Park: Going to the Sun Road
Rick and Kristen promised me that we were going to play in snow at Logan's Pass. Oh boy, oh boy!
But suddenly it started to seem very gloomy to me. I did not like the sound of the thunder and the hail!
I am not going to look out the window anymore because it is too scary and there are rocks and mud and hail and lightning and thunder. I am a good Texas dog who knows how to hunker down!
Those other guys got hit by falling rocks and mud. Rick was smart to get past that place!
The storm is over, but we are still stuck! I am going to stay in my car. It is safer to me I think.
We are driving down the mountian and leaving that place! The water is very muddy now. I do not think we are going to see snow today...oh well --- I am glad me and my family are safe to have new adventures tomorrow.
