Mesa Verde National Park

Mesa Verde National Park -- Colorado

What is down there?  Is that where the Ancient Pueblo people lived?

I think we need to go down the cliff...all the interesting stuff is down, down, down....but this place is discriminatory to me and --- grrr ---I have to wait in the car.

I think I could do it if it weren't for the ladders... that would take thumbs I think.
Kristen and Rick will hike without me for this adventure.

Spruce Tree House - third largest cliff dwelling.  Constructed between A.D. 1211 and A.D. 1278

Spruce Tree House - blackened walls from winter fires.

Spruce Tree House - Kiva, Hopi word for ceremonial room.  They are found in every dwelling.

Square Tower House - multi-level structure

Let's build here!

Kiva in a dwelling built on the mesa top.

What an amazing place!
